So this is a just a little roundup of movies that are making the rounds or on the horizon. Im feeling a little frustrated though at being being n00bs. I understand that people have their own opinions on films, but if they are just plain stupid, i take great offence. for example, i posted a comment on firstshowing about the Inc Hulk review:

I saw this yesterday on the previews, and i was looking forward to this.
I agree with the sentiment that the storty and characters were subdued a little. I didnt get the feeling blonksy was “pissed off”, or that Betty really hated the general. The Humour was interesting, didnt really click, althoght there werent that many people in the cinema at the time. I loved Ferigno and stan lee’s, and RDJ cameos. Liv tyler didnre really do it for me, i seem to remember Jennifer connolly being a stronger betty.
the first encounter was well done and really brought it home, keeping hulk in the shadows before he lets loose. The Action scenes were mind blowing, esp the final battle.
My opinion, not as good as Iron Man, (MUCH BETTER than Ang lee’s version)but still worth a look.

Awesome flick! Loved the story and execution of the plot. Director Louis Leterrier has proven he’s to “The Hulk” what Jon Favreau is to “Iron Man”. Even the subtle homage to the TV series was fitting. Norton was spot on. It was great to see Lou Ferrigno in fine form on the big screen. Stan Lee’s cameo was a good one and Robert Downey Jr’s was a surprise. Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross was tougher than Connelly’s. I think she did great. Hurt and Roth are two of the greatest, cold blooded villains to ever hit the screen. My only minor gripe was the effects. “The Hulk” appeared cartoonish in most scenes, unlike Ang Lee’s version. The Abomination was a formidable villain and the a$$ kicking was great. I definitely loved this flick better than Ang Lee’s version. This was the “Hulk” movie I’ve been wanting to see.

liv tyler was stronger (erm no she wasnt)
the effects were catoonish (um no i think youll find thats the Ang Lee version), General Ross didnt have the ruthless agenda like sam eliot in the First Film, And Blonsky didnt come across as being pissed off at the Hulk.

It wasnt that Liv tylers betty ross was bad, its just there wasnt much story for her to get involved with. Its like Tara reid in Alone in the Dark, you just cant really believe she’s THAT smart. At least me and the other reviewer agreed that it was better than Ang Lee’s version. A cool looking film, that has links to the comics and tv series. Ed Norton is impressive as well as the graphics. I just wished they hadnt cut out the 70 minutes. The directors cut is going to be great.

Looks very cool but he looks way too thin to be the punisher, he should be really well built, half way to hell boy sized.

My reply to this statement: Did you not see the 2004 version, Thomas Jane was bloody scrawny. Ray stevenson looks proper badass - loving the new Armour

And finally my opinion on the Babylon A.D trailer:

Hmm this looks kinda interesting, although the talk is that the Studio butchered it, and took out hlaf the film on the cutting room floor. Vin diesel i fear is being typecast, and the voiceover in the trailer reminds me too much of Riddick. Another Children of Men story / Transporter storyline but it looks promising none the less

Theres been alot of buzz going around the new triology of Termintor films. On slashfilm and firstshowing.net theres been talk about it.

I have one idea that will stop the Machines in their tracks!!!

NO, i wont allow it, ppl like you say, oh make it for the kids for comics and games from the 50,60,70,80’s. when in reality people who read them as young adults fell in love them back then, they dont want to see a crappy watered down version, they want to see a true reflection of the game
and its fair to say, prince of persia sands of time has alot of violence

And to add to it, A Turok Movie?, although i didnt know Turok was a comic book character in the 50’s. Hopefully these types of movies wont crap out and go soft. I want to see a drill gun from the turok game, pulverising skulls! Iron man was fun, and wasnt dumbed down too much, because its not reknowned for alot of violence. It also had some dark themes, with Tony Stark basically hating himself for what his weapons have done to the world. So i want to see a true reflection of Game adaptation to Movies that are actually good, dont crap out, have dark themes, has humour, has recognisable characters, has the swearing and violence for the people who grew up with the games. Rather than the little shits that have jumped on the bandwagon.

Havent looked at this thing is weeks, shame on me. So just a quick update.

Jobhunt= failing, another trip to hospital (cebateous cist) and roadtrip to plymouth….. And well thats about is, how much fun am i having, yay

Its been said in various media sources about how outstanding GTA4 is, and im sure its going to be a generation defining game, setting new benchmarks. Although the one thing that has sullied its release build up its the talk of violence. The snake of cencorship has come back to bite GTA4 on the ass. With the previous releases, the media was quick to jump on its ultra-violent plots and gameplay. Although i have an opinion on this. They can blow it out their ass! The only reason that a game like this has been targeted, is its closeness to reality. Its set in a realistic environment, with believeable characters. Rockstar have made an awe-inspiring game, and this is its downfall.

Releases such as the Halo franchise, didnt have this problem, becuase it was set in a fictional universe, and your principle protagonist hasnt got a face to speak of. Yet i distinctly remember playing through Halo and its sequel to find myself shooting nasty little (and big) buggers in the face and groin, only to discover there was some sort of story going on. Its ok im shooting things in the face in a (frankly) violent setting, becuase its all make-believe. You see your told to shoot them, its kill of be killed. Whereas GTA series, only a small fraction of the game is to kill, other sections where you mow down people or pick up hookers, is purely by choice of the player. Its not essential they get their “Hot coffee” on (even when you have to hack it), its just something you can choose to do. Other such releases like Manhunt i agree is going a step too far, as for “shits and giggles” of some masochistic sadist, your forced to kill in ever more complex and spectacular ways. Why didnt games such as Splinter cell get pwnd for being violent, bearing in mind you go round bustin skulls and breaking necks? (albeit) skillfully. Its life-like violence, and this life like violence has a suitable 18 cert attatched.

Now if im not mistaken the previous GTA games in teh franchise have all had high age cert (15-18). The case of being a person of sound mind and being responsible can appreciate the beauty of such violent games, and if their not (their idiots for making a fuss), and if the parents are pissing and moaning, YOU SHOULDNT HAVE LET YOUR KID PLAY THE DAMN GAME!!!!. Parental responsiblity plays a key factor here, its their responsiblity to not allow any such game of a violent (and sweary - is that a word?) nature, to come anywhere near their child. I admit, yes a child shouldnt be subjected to early violent influences, but if they can understand the make-beleive aspect (reference Halo is make believe and violent, but hey it didnt get a warp becuase it boosted sales and the economy) then bobs your uncle, no problem.

Media sources have cried out to not allow such a game to be released (Manhunt was released, in a rather round about way), although it would help if people actually played the game before cruicifying it, as some instances in America have proven. A possible ban of a game of this magnitude could never happen by the way, its going to boost failing economies no end. Now i unfortunately havent got a next gen console, or any console as a matter of fact, but ill be eagerly awaiting a chance to play on a game, that has been given high praise allready. Happy gaming

So i dont know whether its because im tired, or have just hit a low. My sleeping pattern has altered yet again with the advent of clubbin twice in a short space of time! My eyes are bleary and stinging, which doesnt help when your cats have woken you up!

But anyway ive just come back from a long weekend in my hometown of cheltenham, something which i was looking forward to. But as things usually end up, the weekend didnt go according to plan. Whats the phrase, best laid plans of mice and men?
I wanted to catch up with old friends, not even catch up, just see someone familiar, aside from nez, ryan and well my parents. Just so  happens i pick the one weekend that eveyone is busy, so most of my “friends” had family commitments. Most of them felt sorry for it, and i dont blame them really. Its just as a result i dont think i want to go back, i know who my friends are, and i can never take back the good old days, so maybe it is a time to move on. This trip wasnt a help, it was more of a hinderance, and i seemed to have lost the connection with that place.
To add an extra amount of confusion was a job offer in nottingham, throwing my relocation dreams into dissarray. It threw me a curveball and now ive just been hit smack in the face with reality!

Theres nothing like gettin lost in a good book. yesterday finished girl interupted, and started The lovely bones, kinda chick books really, but still good. going to start on state and revolution after that though, to bring some sort of normality.

This whole job hunting malarky is almost driving me loopy. The fact that it took me a while to understand the direction i want to take didnt help matters much. I tried dabbling in recruitment and sales, although i found after many phonecalls and an afternoon at an assessment centre that it wasnt for me. I syphon through endless websites, looking for anything under “graduate” label, but to find that there are a hundred vacancies with graduate rectruitment, and everything else requires a 2:2. So now i think ive found my calling, or at least something that ill be good at.

You would think i feel good, i think i kind of feel better, but i cant get that niggling feeling that im being a burden upon everyone. To count theres Emily, my supportive girlfriend who loves me as much as i do her. The fact that i miss her and she misses me and living hundreds of miles apart is a burden. The train journeys are expensive and i wish i didnt have to beg steal or borrow. Which leads onto my parents. They lend me even more money (of which i owe them alot) to go see emily, or go to london with. Purely for job interviews the london part, but still ive got nothing, and the Benefits agency isnt helping that area. And then of course andrew, i dont want to continually crash at his everytime i get an (unsucessful) interviews. Also him being allergic to my cats, i run the rick of killing him everytime i visit.

So the only thing i can hope for is these agencies to come through, to start my career, and actually earning to pay back some debts and not be such a layabout and general pain.

Hmm thought id better make use of this interblog or whatever its called. No really its been that long since i used this that im seriously doubting my abilities. Not that much has happened in the land of Nod lately. I say land of Nod because im enjoying the long lie ins you get when unemployed. Its pretty depressing applying for the Dole.

A painfully embaressing experience would be the closest description i could place upon it. The quiet silence, waiting for your turn, overhearing the desperation in the voices of those being seen to. The patronising and condescending officers who look down upon you, whilst the burly security guards watch over, before being called out to scare some chavs away from the premises. These people have no idea of my needs. The extra money from the government i thought would be handy, but this hassle is something i dont need. Form filling galore, and the blissfull unawareness of the people assigned to me. I want a job in london i say… ” okay lets get you a job in town then”…. I dont want a job in lincoln, i have no friends and no prospects here!

They dont listen, their almost deaf to me. I superbly unhappy in my new surroundings. I find Lincoln has its charms, but its not for me. I want something, somewhere with a bit of life and culture to it, and more importantly somewhere with prospects and friends. To no avail i dont bother with the application for local jobs, they will probably take away my benefits because of this. The fact that im actively looking for jobs in London doesnt interest them, and the evidence of job interviews and numerical tests and so on they dont want to hear about. They want to get you a quick job so they achieve their results. Im handed some paper with local jobs on them, with PERMANENT written in bold. “Im sorry, did you mishear me”, i havent agreed to look for work locally permanent, temp work yes. So yet again they arent listening.

To this day, my application has been in limbo for over two weeks, and i havent recieved anything that resembles money. Much to annoyance.

So i just downloaded 4OD, to watch series 1 of skins again, to find that it tells me a) i dont have IE6 and b) i dont have windows media player 10.
I found this rather bemusing as i indeed have both, and i indeed hate both programs as they suck satan balls, they use up for too much memory and as the slowest and most painful programs i have ever used. Now the fact that i was using firefox lead me to think that, it doesnt recognise the fact i allready have these programs cuz im running it thru firefox. Which i also found befuddling, as firefox is one of the most widely used browsers. So, channel4 should think about limiting 4 OD users to stoneage people who still use IE6 and open it up to firefox and safari users.

The one thing that really ground my gears was the fact that when i downloaded the program and went to register i found this: DRM, the bastards, fine, just clog up my system with your acid lies and poison root kit’s. FUCK you 4 OD!!
